Özet

Astım dünyada çocuklar arasında hızlı artış gösteren kronik hastalıklardan birisidir. Hastalık son yıllarda tüm dünyada artmakta ve çok fazla sayıda çocuğu etkilemektedir. Ülkemizde ISAAC yöntemi ile yapılan bir çalışmada çocukluk çağı astım prevalansının %17,1 olduğu bulunmuştur. Günümüzde astımlı çocuğa uygulanan tedavi programının bir parçası olarak görülen astımlı çocuğun sportif faaliyetlerde bulunması fiziksel, zihinsel ve ruhsal gelişimine katkıda sağlayarak çocuğun yaşam kalitesini artırmaktadır. Astımlı çocuklar için önerilen sporlar arasında başta yüzme ve su sporları, gelmektedir. Tenis, voleybol gibi sporlar da önerilmektedir. Spor seçiminde ise çocuğun astımının şiddeti, kontrol altında olup olmaması ve çocuğun tercihi önemli rol oynamalıdır. Astımlı çocukların hemşirelik yaklaşımında, semptomları düzeltme, çocuk ve aile bireylerinin eğitimi, hastalığa uyumuna yardımcı olma, çocuğun evde bakımını sürdürme, çocuğun günlük yaşam aktivitelerini sağlıklı sürdürmesine yönelik girişimler yer almaktadır. Ailelerin ve çocukların alacakları koruyucu önlemler ile çocuğun diğer yaşıtları gibi spor yapması desteklenmelidir.

Abstract

Asthma is one of the chronic diseases which have are widely seen among the children. The disease has recently been in the increase all over the world and affects many children. In a study conducted with International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC) method, it was found out that prevalence of childhood asthma was 17.1%. Participation in sportive activities by the children with asthma, which is today considered as a part of asthma treatment program, makes contributions to their physical, mental and psychological development and increases their quality of life. The most recommended sports for the children with asthma are swimming and water sports. Sports like tennis and volleyball are too advised. Choice of sports depends on severity of asthma, child's choice and whether or not asthma is kept under control. Nursing approaches for the children with asthma include correction of symptoms, training of children and their families, assistance with disease adaptation, continuing asthma care at home and interventions to make children lead healthy activities of daily life of children. With protective measures to be taken by families and children; children should be encourage for sportive activities.
