Özet

Propiltiourasil (PTU) Graves hastalığına bağlı hipertiroidinin tedavisinde sıklıkla kullanılan antitiroid bir ilaçtır. PTU kullanımı sırasında nadir de olsa agranülositoz gibi hayatı tehdit eden komplikasyonlar ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Graves hastalığına bağlı hipertiroidi nedeniyle propiltiourasil tedavisi başlandıktan 2 ay sonra tipik agranülositoz belirtileri ile başvurup tanı koyduğumuz ve granülosit koloni stimüle edici faktör kullanımı ile başarıyla tedavi ettiğimiz bir olguyu sunuyoruz.

Abstract

Propylthiouracil (PTU) is a commonly used anti-thyroid drug in the treatment of hyperthyroidism due to Graves disease. Life-threatening complications such as agranulocytosis may occur during the treatment of PTU. We present a case of hyperthyroidism due to Graves disease who was admitted with the typical signs of agranulocytosis at two months after the initiation of therapy and treated successfully with granulocyte colony stimulating factor.
