Özet

Sosyal durum bir toplumu oluşturan unsurların ırk, din ve hatta ekonomik yaşantılarına göre gruplandırılması, bu grupların birbiri ile olan ilişkileri, toplumun aile yapısı, en üst tabakadan en alt tabakaya kadar bireylerin yaşam tarzları, ekonomik hayatları ve kaynakları, merasimler, evler, evlerde kullanılan eşyalar, yiyecekler, içecekler kısacası toplumun genel görüntüsüne denir. XIII. yüzyılın başlarında Bağdat şehri dünyanın dört bir yanından farklı dillerde, ırklarda, inançlarda insanın toplandığı, bin bir gece masallarına konu olan bir milyonu aşkın nüfusuyla devasa bir şehir görünümündeydi. Bağdat şehri her ne kadar zenginliğin ve şatafatın merkezi gibi görünse de farklı kültür ve inançların buluşma noktası olması hasebiyle aynı zamanda bir çatışma ve kargaşa merkezi durumundaydı. Bağdat şehri İslâm dünyasının merkezi olma durumunu Moğolların 1258 yılındaki saldırısına kadar muhafaza etmiştir. Moğollar tarafından ağır tahribata uğratılan Bağdat şehri bir daha eski şatafatlı günlerine dönememiştir. Bu çalışmamızda XIII. yüzyılın başlarında Bağdat şehrinin görünümü ile halkının dinî, sosyal ve ekonomik yapısını ele almaya çalışacağız.

Abstract

It is meant with the social situation that grouping the elements which composes society according to its race, religion and economic life; the relationships of these groups with each other, the family structure of society, lifestyles of individuals from the top to the bottom, economic life and resources, ceremonies, houses, goods used in homes, foods, drinks, shortly general view of society. At the beginning of the XIII. century, Baghdad city looked like a huge city with a population of over one million from all over the world subjected to Arabian Nights, and with people from different languages, races, beliefs. Although the Baghdad city may seem like the center of wealth and luxury, it was also center of conflict and chaos as a result of being the meeting point of different cultures and beliefs. Baghdad city preserved its feature of being center of the Islamic world till Mongol attacks in 1258. Baghdad city suffering heavy damage by Mongols, never turned back to old prosperous days. In this study, we will handle the view of Baghdad city and social, religious, economic structure of its people at the beginning of XIII. century.
