Some Thought and Attempts Over Creating “Youth Organization” in Turkey Between Two World Wars

Özet

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin çağdaşı olan Avrupa’daki pek çok ülkede gençlik, parti veya devlet eliyle teşkilatlandırılmış ve farklı adlar ve amaçlarla pek çok gençlik teşkilatı meydana getirilmiştir. Aynı dönemde Türkiye’de benzer gençlik teşkilatı oluşturmaya dönük düşünce ve girişimler vardır. Bu girişimlerin üzerinde ise bugüne kadar yeterince durulmamıştır. Bu makalede, önce Osmanlı’dan bu konuda tevarüs eden miras üzerinde durulduktan sonra, Cumhuriyet’in ilk yıllarından başlayarak II. Dünya Savaşı’nın başlayacağı tarihe kadarki dönemde Türkiye’de devlet veya parti eliyle gençlik teşkilatı oluşturmaya dönük çaba ve gayretler ele alınmıştır.

Abstract

Youth organized by hand of party or state and countless youth organization with diff erent names and purpose in lots of country in Europe which are contemporary to Republic of Turkey. During the same period, there were attempts and thoughts to create similar youth organizations in Turkey. The focus on these initiatives has not been enough so far. In this Paper, fi rstly focused on heritage inherited from the Ottoman Empire in this regard and then in the period, starting from the fi rst years of the Republic to the date of the start of World War II, the eff orts on creating youth organizations organized by the hand of party or state in Turkey were discussed.
