KİNDÎ VE ANTİK YUNAN FELSEFE GELENEĞİ

Özet

İslâm Felsefesinin ilk filozofu olmaya layık görülen Kindî’nin Yunan felsefesine dair tutumu bütünüyle sempatik bir görünüm arz eder. Eskileri düşünceye kattıkları şeylerden ötürü şükranla anan Kindî’nin felsefesi Platon, Aristoteles ve Yeni Eflatuncu felsefenin izlerini taşır. Bu makalede Kindî’nin İlk Felsefe Üzerine, Akıl Üzerine ve Nefis Üzerine adlı eserleri temel alınarak, onun Antik Yunan felsefi geleneğe yaklaşımı ele alınmaktadır. Bu düşüncelere karşı kendi felsefi tutumu da kısmen dile getirilmektedir.

Abstract

The attitude of al-Kindi, considered the first philosopher in the history of Islamic philosophy, towards ancient Greek philosophy appears completely symphatetic. Al-Kindi, who mentions the ancients with gratitude because of their contributions to thinking, bears strong traces of Platonic, Aristotelian, and Neo-Platonic philosophy. This article deals with al-Kindi’s approach to Ancient Greek philosophical tradition based on a study of his various short works, namely On First Philosophy, On the Intellect and On the Soul. It also discusses al-Kindi’s own philosophical stand vis-à-vis these ancient traditions.
