The Parents Having Mentally Retarded Children and Their Assesment of their Children’s Situation in Terms of Religion

Abstract
Having a mentally retarded child encumbers their families much more responsibility than a normally child. Mentally retarded child can’t reach physically and mentally maturity which a normally child can reach and needs nursing along its whole life. This condition also wears out the parents emotionally. In this article, it is aimed to analyze religious attitude of these parents about their children's condition.
Özet
Zihinsel engelli çocuğa sahip olmak ailelere normal bir çocuğunkinden çok daha fazla zorluk ve sorumluluk getirmektedir. Zihinsel engelli çocuk, normal bir çocuğun büyüme sürecinde ulaştığı fiziksel ve zihinsel olgunluğa ulaşamamakta, yaşam boyu sürekli bakıma ihtiyaç duymaktadır. Bu durum aileleri duygusal yönden de yıpratmaktadır. Bu araştırmada ailelerin, çocuklarının durumu ile ilgili dini düşüncelerini tespit etmek hedeflenmiştir.
