Religion and Music: An Overview Trial to the Relationship of Religion and Music in the Context of History of Religions

Abstract
Looking at the relationship of religion and music throughout the history it is not possible to mention a single attitude. In terms of some religious traditions music and religion is something that cannot be considered together. But in terms of most of the religious traditions the music it is something that express to not expressing, unspeakable and deep inside; or notice to people something that is beyond matter. In this article taking into account the historical processes of religion it has been examined approach of religion to music and meaning attributed.
Özet
Tarih boyunca din müzik ilişkisine bakıldığında tek bir tutumdan söz etmek mümkün görünmemektedir. Bazı dinsel gelenekler açısından müzik ve din bir arada düşünülemeyen bir şeydir. Ama birçok dinsel gelenek açısından ise müzik ifade edilemeyeni, dile gelmeyeni, derinlerde olanı ifade eden, anlatan ya da insanın maddenin ötesini fark etmesini sağlayan bir şeydir. Bu makalede dinlerin tarihsel süreçleri dikkate alınarak dinlerin müziğe yaklaşımları ve yükledikleri anlam incelenecektir.
