Abstract

E-export, as a rapidly growing segment of global trade, offers companies the opportunity to access cross-border markets, acquire new customers, and increase sales. This study aims to identify the challenges faced by exporters in Turkey’s automotive spare parts sector during their entry into e-export and to develop solutions to these challenges. In-depth interviews were conducted with automotive spare parts exporters, and the data were analyzed using Maxqda2024 software. The findings revealed that companies most frequently encounter barriers such as lack of knowledge, logistical difficulties, payment system issues, and insufficient staffing. Logistical problems, in particular, emerged as the greatest challenge for both companies engaged in e-export and those that have not yet ventured into it. Participants highlighted the need for strengthening logistics infrastructure, increasing government incentives, establishing local e-export platforms, and expanding training programs as key solutions to these problems. Moreover, the companies expressed positive expectations regarding the future of e-export and indicated their plans to invest in this area. The study's findings emphasize the necessity of strategic steps to enhance Turkey’s e-export potential. Strengthening logistics and information infrastructure, expanding training, and supporting local digital platforms are critical for companies to remain competitive in international markets.
