Abstract

In this study, the effect of materialistic values such as success, centrality, and happiness on the environmentally sensitive behavior of consumers from Generation Z through environmental beliefs and environmental concerns was measured. 315 members of Generation Z provided information for the study via an online survey. First, the validity and internal consistency of the measurement tool were determined with Factor Analysis. Then, the structural model was tested with Path Analysis. As a result of the study, it was seen that success had no significant effect on environmental beliefs. Still, centrality and happiness had a substantial effect on environmental beliefs, environmental beliefs had a significant effect on environmental concerns, and finally, environmental concerns had a significant effect on consumers' environmental direct behavior and environmental indirect behavior. It was also revealed that the model was structurally significant and valid.
