The aim of this research is to determine the history teachers’ perceptions about the implementation process of assessment and evaluation activities in new history curriculum programs. In this research, a qualitative approach is adopted and a semi structured interview form is used as the data collection tool. 15 history teachers working in Erzurum constitute the research group of the study. Collected data is analysed with the content analysis. According to findings, teachers approve the assessment and evaluation activities of the new programs in general terms; however but they do not find themselves adequate about the alternative assessment and evaluation activities that this programs proposes, at the levels of knowledge and implementation, they use mostly the assessment and evaluation instruments which are expressed as the traditional, and while implementing the assessment and evaluation dimensions of the new curriculum, they mostly face the problems of insufficient time, students’ low learning level face problems.
