Bir eserin edebî olup olmadığını tayin etme yöntemlerinin başında üslûp incelemesi gelmektedir. Edebî eserleri üslûp açısından incelemek, bir anlamda eserin estetik niteliklerini ele alma çabasıdır. Türk edebiyatı, Tanzimat kuşağıyla birlikte Batı'dan gelen yeni edebî türlerle karşılaşır. Yeni bir dil ve üslûp ihtiyacını da zorunlu kılan bu karşılaşma geleneksel alışkanlıklarla yeninin birlikte görüldüğü bir dönemi ortaya çıkarmıştır. Batılı bir form olan roman ile yerel malzemeyi birleştirme durumu, hem geleneksel alışkanlıkların hem de Batı'dan gelen üslûp özelliklerinin varlığını ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu durum, dönem romanlarının dilinde ve kurgusunda birtakım problemlerin doğmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Türk edebiyatındaki ilk romanlardan olan Şemsettin Sami'nin Taaşşuk-ı Tal'at ve Fitnat romanı üslûpbilimi açısından ele alınacak ve yeri geldikçe dönemin romanlarına dair bazı tespitler yapılacaktır.One of the means of deciding on the literariness of a work is its analysis in terms of stylistics. This state of literary affairs brought forth a series of problems in the language and structure of the novels of this period. In this article, we will discuss Şemsettin Sami's novel, Ta'lat and Fitnat in stylistic terms and at certain points comments on the general state of the novel in this period.
