Sıralı cümle üzerine bir inceleme

Türk dili üzerine yapılan çalışmalara bakıldığında dilbilimcilerin cümle tanımlamalarının hemen hemen aynı olduğu, ancak birbirine çeşitli şekillerde bağlanan birden fazla bağımsız cümlenin tanımlaması ya da sınıflandırması konusunda ayrılığa düştüğü görülmektedir. Bu durumun temel nedeni bazı dilbilimcilerin konuyu biçimsel, bazılarının ise anlamsal yönden ele almasıdır. Sıralı cümlelerle ilgili çalışmalar incelendiğinde bu cümle türünün farklı başlıklar altında ele alındığı ve konu ile ilgili farklı tanımlar yapıldığı görülmektedir. Bu tanımlara bakıldığında sıralı cümlelerin sadece virgül ya da noktalı virgülle ayrılan bir cümle türü mü; yoksa bağlaçlarla bağlanan cümlelerin de mi bu cümle türüne dahil edilmesi gerektiği konusunda farklı yaklaşımlar olduğu tespit edilmektedir. Ayrıca öge ortaklığının da sıralı cümle için belirleyici bir unsur olup olamayacağı konusunda da farklı görüşler yer almaktadır. Bu bakış açılarına bağlı olarak bu cümle türü ile ilgili çeşitli şekillerde sınıflandırma yapılmaktadır. Bu tür sınıflandırmaların yanı sıra, sıralı cümleleri oluşturan bağımsız cümleler arasındaki anlamsal ilişkiye dayalı sınıflandırmalar da bulunmaktadır. Bir cümlenin yapı yönünden sınıflandırılıp sınıflandırılamayacağı da tartışılan konular arasında yer almaktadır. Bu nedenle sıralı cümlelerin yapı yönünden mi, yoksa bağlanış şekillerine göre mi ele alması gerektiği üzerine farklı bakış açılarının geliştiği görülmektedir. Biz de çalışmamızın amacına uygun olarak, bu cümle türü ile ilgili başlıca yaklaşımları verdikten sonra ortak bir sonuç elde edip sıralı cümleleri sınıflandırmaya çalışacağız.

Looking at studies on Turkish Language, it is understood that linguists’ “sentence” descriptions are almost the same, however they think differently on the issue of description or classification of more than one independent sentences which are attached each other in different ways. The main reason of this is that while some linguists focus on form of the issue, others focus on semantic.When one analyses studies about coordinate sentences one can see that this type of sentence is dealt with under various headings and that different definitions are given for it. When one looks at these definitions one can determine different approaches: are coordinate sentences just a type of sentence that is subdivided through comma or semicolon, or must it be included in the sentences that linked through conjunctions? Besides there exist different opinions concerning whether nor not the sharing of an element is a feature that defines a coordinate sentence. Depending on what point of view one takes one arrives at different results at concerning this type of sentence and one classifies it in different ways. In addition to these classification, there is a classification based on semantic relations between independent sentences constituting coordinate sentences. Whether or not a sentence can be classified on the basis of its structure is a widely debated topic. For this reason one can see that different points of view have developed concerning whether coordinate sentences should be considered according to their structure or according to the types of conjunction. After having presented the main approaches concerning this type of sentence this article will attempt to arrive at a synthesis and to classify coordinate sentences in a considered manner.
