Popüler roman ve gençler üzerindeki etkileri- bursa örneği

Bu makalenin amacı öncelikle gençlerin popüler romanları tercih sebeplerini tespit etmektir. Tercih edilen popüler romanların gençlerin hayatına nasıl bir anlam kattığı ve bu türün estetik romanlara oranla çok okunmasının altında yatan sebepler ortaya konmuştur. Giriş bölümünde popüler romanın genel özellikleri verilmiştir. Bu bölümde popüler romanın çok da kayda değer bir tür olmadığı algısının yaygın olduğu belirtilmiştir. Yazarı açısından estetik gaye güdülmeksizin kaleme alınan; yayılıp yazılmasında başta ticari kaygı olmak üzere, sanat dışı sebepler bulunan; okurun fikrinden çok duygu ve heyecanlarını harekete geçirmeyi hedefleyen; çok sayıda okura ulaşan; kolay anlaşılıp rahat çözümlenen; okurda belli bir seviye aramayan basma kalıp bir yapı arz eden; bir çoğu filme alınarak okur dışında sinema ve televizyonda da çok sayıda izleyiciye ulaşmış nitelikteki romanlardır. Bunun yanında yazarı tarafından estetik bir gaye ile yazılan; Yine yazarı tarafından ciddi bir uğraş olarak kabul edilen; yayınlanması sadece ticari sebeplere dayanmayan; okuru hazır duygu ve düşünce kalıplarından sıyırıp, onu her şeyi sorgulayıcı bir konuma getiren; yine okurda belli bir seviye estetik birikim arayan; bu yüzden az sayıda okura ulaşan; kurgusu ve anlatım tekniği açısında orijinallik arz eden nitelikte romanlara da estetik roman denir 1 Bu çalışmada gençlerin popüler romanları yukarıdaki tanımdaki gibi algılamadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Giriş bölümünde belirtildiği gibi estetik roman karşısında olumsuz değerlendirmelere maruz kalsa da bu durum popüler romanın çok okunan bir tür olduğu gerçeğini değiştirmemektedir. Bu gerçekten yola çıkarak bu çalışmada gençler arasında popüler romanın niçin bu kadar rağbet gördüğü, gençlerin dünyasına neler kattığını, aile ve çevrenin bu roman tercihlerindeki faktörü, estetik romanlara geçiş için bir basamak teşkil edip etmeyeceğini, gençlerin gözünde popüler romanın anlamını, okul türünün seçilen romanlara etkisi gibi bir çok konu yapılan anketler ve bu anketlerin çıkarımlarıyla ortaya konulmuştur. Araştırma alanı Bursa İliyle sınırlandırılmıştır. Anket 2011-2012 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Bursa’da bulunan orta öğretim kurumlarının her birinden bir örnek okulda uygulanmıştır. Bu okullarda edebiyat öğretmenlerinin tespit ettiği popüler roman okuyan 421 öğrenci üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmada çapraz grafikler SPSS 15. programı kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuç ve öneriler kısmında tablolarda yapılan mukayeselerden elde edilen çıkarımlar halinde sunulmuştur.

The aim of this article is, firstly, to determine the Young people’s preference reasons of popular novels. What meanings the popular novels preferred by the young have added to their lives and the underlying reasons why this genre is read more than the aesthetic novels, have been put forth. In the introduction part, the general characteristics of the popular novel have been presented. In this part, the widespread perception that popular novel is not a genre which is so noteworthy has been stated. Popular novels are the type of novels which are written without any aesthetic purpose in terms of their writers; in the writing and the publication process of which there are some reasons out of art; primarily, commercial concern; which aim to stimulate the reader’s excitement rather than ideas; which reach a great number of readers; which are understood and resolved easily; which don’t search for a specific level in their readers and present a stereotyped structure; most of which have been filmed and reached many viewers in cinemas and on the television apart from the readers. On the other hand, aesthetic novels are the novels which are written for aesthetic purposes by their writers; which are considered as a serious effort; the publication of which are not only based on commercial reasons; which take the readers from ready emotion and idea patterns and bring them to a position where they question everything; again, which search for an aesthetic background in the readers to some extent; thus; reaching less number of readers; which have an originality in terms of setting and narration technique. In this study, it has been found that the young do not perceive the popular novels as in the definition above. As it has been pointed out in the introduction part, even if popular novel is subjected to negative evaluations compared to aesthetic novel this situation does not change the fact that it is a most read genre. Starting from this fact, in this study many topics such as why popular novel has such popularity among the young, what it adds to the young's lives, the family and the environment factors in the preference of this novel, whether it will become a transition step to the aesthetic novel, the meaning of popular novel in the eye of the young, the influence of the school types on the novels selected, have been presented through the questionnaires and conclusions from their results. The research area was restricted to Bursa province. The questionnaires were conducted in 2011-2012 Education Year in a sample school from each type of the secondary education institutions in Bursa. In these schools, the questionnaires were applied to 421 students who were reading popular novel and chosen by literature teachers. In this study cross-graphics were obtained by using SPSS programme 15. In conclusion and suggestions part of this study, the results were presented as conclusions deduced from the comparisons made in the tables.
