Türkçe gramer kitaplarında söz dizimine fazla yer verilmemiştir. Söz dizimi konuları bu kitaplarda kalıp ifadeler ve benzer örneklerle kısaca işlenmiştir. Ancak son zamanlarda söz dizimi en çok araştırmaya konu olan dil bilgisi konusu haline gelmiştir. Bu araştırmalar neticesinde son zamanlarda peş peşe söz dizimi kitapları yayımlanmaya başlamıştır. Bu konuda yapılan araştırmaların artmasından dolayı doğal olarak çok farklı değerlendirmeler ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu farklı değerlendirmeler, temel bir görüş etrafında birleşme yerine gittikçe çeşitlenmiştir. Bu farklılıklar, Türkçenin öğrenilmesi ve öğretilmesi çalışmalarında büyük zorluklar oluşturacak boyutlara ulaşmıştır. Bu değişik fikirlerden dolayı cümlenin yapısı ve ögeleri ile ilgili terimlerde bir görüş ya da kabul birliği sağlanamıyor. Bu çalışmada hakkında çok farklı görüşler öne sürülen özne türleri konu alınmıştır. Giriş bölümünde özne türleri hakkındaki sorunlar tartışılmış, bazı dilcilerin bu sorunlar ile ilgili fikirleri verilmiştir. Konunun daha iyi anlaşılması için öncelikle dilcilerin özne türleri için kullandığı terimler verilmiştir. Bu terimlerin tanımları ve örnekleri ile bunlar hakkındaki eleştiri ve farklı görüşler özetlenmiştir. Özne türleri ile ilgili terimlerin çoğunun öznenin özelliği olarak değerlendirilmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Ondan sonra öznesiz cümleler tasnif edilerek incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme neticesinde öznenin cümlede temel/asıl/zorunlu öge olmadığı kanaatine varılmıştır. Daha sonra açık özne ve gizli özne olmak üzere iki özne türü önerilmiştir. Bu türlerin özellikleri bu konuda çalışan dilcilerin örnekleriyle verilmiştir. Böylece özne türleri konusunda doğruluğuna inanılan bir görüşte birleşmeye katkıda bulunmak amaçlanmıştır.

It is not much mentioned about syntax in Turkish grammar books. Subjects on syntax have been shortly epitomized in chunks and with similar examples. But, recently syntax has been one of the most researched linguistic subjects. Accordingly, as a result of these studies, in recent days, books on syntax have been consecutively published. Many diverse evaluations naturally emerged as a consequence of the increase over the issue. These different evaluations have been become distinct rather than gathering around a basic core. These differences have become a serious hamper for learning and teaching Turkish language. Due to differences, there cannot reach to a consensus on the structure and agreements of a sentence. This study focuses on different subject types. The problem on subject types was discussed in Introduction, and the views of some linguistics were provided. Also, in order to understand the issue better, the terms used by some linguists for subject types were given. The description and examples of the terms, and different views and critics of these terms were summarized. It was concluded that most of the terms related to the subject types should be assessed as the features of a subject. Then, sentences without subjects were examined by classifying. As a result of these examinations, it was seen that the subject was not a basic/imperative component in the sentence. Afterwards, two subject types were suggested; overt subject and null subject. These subject types were epitomized through the examples of linguists studied over that issue. At the end of the study, it is aimed to contribute to reach a consensus on these subject types.
