Coğrafya dersinde proje tabanlı öğretim sürecinin öğrencilerin yansıtıcı düşünme yeteneklerine göre değerlendirilmesi

Coğrafya eğitiminde yansıtıcı düşünmenin ele alınması yenidir. Bu yüzden bu çalışmanın daha sonra yapılacak araştırmalara örnek olacağı düşünülmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı; Coğrafya dersi iklim konusunda yaşanan Proje tabanlı öğrenme (PTÖ) süreci sonrasında öğrencilerin sürece yönelik tutmuş oldukları değerlendirme defterindeki ifadelerine göre yansıtıcı düşünme yeteneklerini incelemektir. Çalışma nitel araştırma stratejileri içerisinde yer alan bir durum çalışmasıdır. Çalışmanın evrenini Ankara ili Keçiören ilçesi Rauf Denktaş Lisesi 9. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemini ise bu okuldaki Coğrafya dersinde PTÖ sürecine katılan 9/B sınıfında öğrenim gören 24 öğrencidir. Öğrencilerin süreç sonrasında yazmış oldukları değerlendirme defteri doküman inceleme tekniği ile değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrenci ifadeleri betimsel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak öğrenciler, PTÖ süreciyle ilgili yansıtıcı düşüncelerini daha çok tanımlayıcı biçimde ifade etmişlerdir. Düşüncelerini eleştirel ifade eden öğrenciler ise tanımlayıcıya göre daha azdır. Çalışma öğrencilerin yansıtıcı düşünme ve ifade edebilme yeteneklerinin geliştirilmesine yönelik çeşitli önerilerle tamamlanmıştır.

Reflective Thinking in Geography Education has recently been taken into account. This study is proposed to be a sample for the forthcoming researches. The purpose of the study is to examine the reflective thinking skills of the students according to the expressions over the evaluation notes that they took towards the process after the Project Based Learning Process in Geography Lesson on climate. The study is an example of a case study that take place in qualitative research strategies. The universe of the study is the 9th grade students at Keçiören Rauf Denktaş High School in Ankara. Twenty four students who participated in the PBL process in Geography Lesson in class 9/B are the sample of the study. The Evaluation Notebook that was written by the students after the process was examined by document analysing technique. The expressions of students were analyzed descriptively. As a result, students expressed themselves mostly descriptively about PBL process. The students who expressed themselves in a critical manner are less than the descriptive ones. The study was completed with various suggestions about improving students’ reflective thinking and expressing skills.
