8. sınıf inkılâp tarihi ve atatürkçülük dersinde gazete kullanımının öğrencilerin bu derse ilişkin tutum ve başarısı’na etkisi

Bu çalışmada İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük konularının öğretiminde gazete kullanımının, öğrencilerin bu derse ilişkin tutum ve başarısına etkisi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma 2011-2012 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Ankara „da 8. Sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırrma da deneysel yöntemlerden kontrol gruplu ön-test ve sontest modeli uygulanmıştır. Araştırma da 8. sınıf İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersi 7. Ünitesi olan “Atatürk’ten Sonraki Türkiye: İkinci Dünya Savaşı ve Sonrası” konusu belirlenen deney grubuna dönemle ve dönemin olaylarını yansıtan gazete kupürleri kullanılarak işlenmiş, kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel öğretim metodu kullanılarak işlenmiştir. Deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerine başarı testi ön-test ve son-test olarak uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin Türkiye Cumhuriyeti İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersine yönelik tutum ve değişimleri belirlemek için tutum ölçeği iki gruba da ön-test ve son-test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda Türkiye Cumhuriyeti İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersinde tarihsel gazetelerin kullanılmasıyla işlenen 4 haftalık ders sonunda deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin ders hakkında olumlu tutum geliştirdikleri ve uygulanan başarı testiyle de deney grubu lehine başarılarının arttığı gözlemlenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda öğretmenlere gazete kullanımı konusunda hizmet içi eğitim verilmesi, derslerde kullanabilecekleri materyal hazırlanması ve bu materyallerin ücretsiz olarak sağlanması ve öğretmen adaylarının almış oldukları lisans eğitimi sırasında da gazeteleri etkin kullanma konusunda gerekli bilgi ve becerilerle donatılmaları konusunda çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

In this study use of newspaper at teaching of History of Revolutions and Kemalism subjects and effect of it student achievement and attitude has been presented. The research was conducted on 8th grade students in Ankara in 2011-2012 school year. In the study control grouped pre-test post-test model which is one of the experimental methods has been employed. In the study, subject of “Turkey After Atatürk: World War II and afterward” which is 8th grade 7th unit of the course History of Revolutions and Kemalism has been taught with the use of newspaper clippings in the experimental group, while traditional instructional methods implemented in the control group. Achievement test has been conducted as pre-test and post-test in both experimental and control groups. It has been observed that at the end of 4 week period that historical newspapers used at the course of Revolution History of Republic of Turkey and Kemalism, students in experimental and control groups developed positive attitudes about the course and implementation of the achievement test has demonstrated that achievements increased in favor of the experimental group. At the end of the study various suggestions are made regarding providing in service training for teachers, preparation and free distribution of materials for in class use of teachers, and providing pre-service teachers with necessary skills and knowledge during their undergraduate education to use newspapers in their instructions.
