Gıdâ-yı Rûh 18. yüzyılda dini, tasavvufî, ahlaki konularda manzum-mensur olarak yazılmıs edebi didaktik bir eserdir. Eser 21’i Mesnevî-i Serîf’ten olmak üzere 48’i farklı tasavvufi eserden derlenen 72 adet mensur hikaye ve Mesnevî-i Serîf’ten derlenmis 477 beyitten olusmaktadır.
Yirmi bes bin beyti askın bir eser olan Mesnevî-i Serif’in tamamının tercüme ve serh edilmesi zor oldugu için aralarında ilgi olan beyitler mutasavvıflarca öncelik sırasına göre derlenmis ve müridlerin istifadesine sunulmustur. Gıdâ-yı Rûh da bu sekilde olusturulmus bir intihâb-ı mesnevî örnegidir.
Bu çalısmada La’lizâde Abdülbâkî’nin hayatı hakkında bilgi verilerek, Gıdâ-yı Rûh’un tanıtımı yapılacak, eserde islenen konulara göre Mesnevi’nin muhtelif ciltlerinden derlenen beyitler tespit edilecek ve müellifin eseri olustururken izledigi usûl degerlendirilecektir.
Gıdâ-yı Rûh (Food of Soul) is a literary and didactic work that has been written in verse and prose in 18th century. It’s based on religious, mistic and moral issues. The work includes 72 prose stories and 477 couplets. 21 of these stories selected from Mathnawi and the couplets related to these stories. The other 48 stories compiled from different mistical works.
Mathnawi-i Sharif is a work composed of more than twenty five thousands couplets. Because of it’s difficult to be translated and commented all work, the couplets related to each other has been compiled in order of priority and importance by sufis. Gıdâ-yı Rûh is an example of election of mathnawi (intihâb-ı mesnevî) written in that way.
The purpose of this study is to give information about La’lîzâde Abdülbâkî’s life, introduce the Gıdâ-yı Rûh by indicating the couplets which compiled from Masnavi’s various volumes and evaluate the methods followed by author in writing the work.
