The aim of the study is to determine whether the receptive language development of preschool age children differs or not depending on the status of the twins. Within the framework of this general purpose, receptive language development of non twins, twins and monozygotic twins and dizygotic twins were examined comparatively. Working group of this relational screening model study was composed of 124 children including 62 twins (31 twin pairs) and 62 non twins that attended preschool education institutions in central districts of Konya during fall semester of 2010-2011 and spring semester of 2011-2012 and showed normal develop ment. Personal Information Form and Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test” was used as data collection tool and t test was used for the analysis of the data. As a result of the research receptive language development of pre school age children was found not to differ depending on twin status (twins, non twins, monozygotic and dizygotic twins).
