Xv-xvii. yüzyıllarda ege adaları nda çeşitli yönleriyle küçükbaş hayvancılık

Boğazlara hakim konuma sahip Ege'nin kuzeyindeki Limni, Taşoz, İmroz, Bozcaada ve Semendirek adalarına ait tahrir defterlerindeki küçükbaş hayvancılığa dair kayıtlar ve vergi rejimi, devletin genelinde görülen vergi tatbikatından farklılık göstermesi açısından ilgi çekicidir. Osmanlıların fethettikleri bölgedeki hassasiyetlere bağlı olarak, reayanın yararını gözeten ancak devlet için bir anlamda yeni olan bazı mahalli uygulamaları benimsediği bilinen bir husustur. Bu makalede, inceleme konusu edilen adalarda da benzeri bir durumun söz konusu olduğu gözler önüne serilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Ayrıca tahrir defterlerinin çalışmanın ana mehazını oluşturmasının da etkisiyle bu beş Ege Adası'nda yürütülen hayvancılık faaliyetinin tahrir dönemleri arasındaki gelişimi yalnızca iktisadî yönüyle değil aynı zamanda halkın gıda ihtiyacı da göz önünde bulundurularak tetkik edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır.

The registrations concerning sheep and goat raising and tax regimes included within the tahrir defters on the islands of Lemnos, Thasos, Imbros, Tenedos, Samothrace at the North of the Aegean sea, dominating the Straits, bare an interesting nature due to the fact that they differ from the general tax application dominant throughout the state. It is a well known fact that the Ottomans were eager to embrace regional practices due to their sensitivity towards the interests of the subjects living in their newly conquered lands. This article aims to display such a situation, by investigating the already mentioned islands. Furthermore, due to the fact that the tahrir defters constitute the essence of this study, it is endeavored to demonstrate sheep and goat raising on these five islands during the periods of the tahrirs, from the point of view of economy and food requirement of the people on the island.
