Söylenceden düşünbilime kibris’li afrodit- hesiodos’tan proklos’a bir aşk ve güzellik tanriçasinin öyküsü

Golden Aphrodite... Aphrodite Ourania... Or Aphrodite the Cyprian... These were among the epithets of the Olympian goddess of love and beauty in Ancient Greece... According to Hesiod’s “Theogony”; she was born from the sea foam... After Cronus cut off the genitals of his father, Uranus -the god of heavens-, he threw them into the sea and Aphrodite was born from the foam... And then she landed on Cyprus... In “Iliad”; Aphrodite was sided with the Trojans... The story of the goddess was told many times after Hesiod and Homer... Today, it is very interesting to see how Proclus, one of the thinkers of the late antiquity -also one of Plato’s successors- interpreted the myth of Aphrodite in Hesiod and Homer... Proclus interpreted the story of the goddess allegorically according to the tradition of Neo-Platonism and settled Aphrodite within his theology...

Altın Kemerli Afrodit... Göksel Afrodit... Ya da Kıbrıs’lı Afrodit... Eski Yunan’da, bu sıfatlarla nitelendirilmiş Olympos’un aşk ve güzellik tanrıçası... Hesiodos, “Tanrıların Doğuşu”nda; Afrodit’in, denizin köpüklerinden doğduğunu söylüyor... Gök tanrı Uranos’un, oğlu Kronos tarafından kesilen hayâları, denize düşünce, Afrodit doğuvermiş... Köpüklerin arasından sıyrılıp karaya ayak bastığı yer ise Kıbrıs imiş... “İlyada”da; Troyalılar’ın yanında yer alan Afrodit, Hesiodos ve Homeros’un ardından da sayısız anlatıya konu olmuş... Asıl ilginç olan ise; Geç Antik Çağ düşünürü ve Platon’un ardıllarından olan Proklos’un, Hesiodos ve Homeros’ta anlatılan Afrodit söylencesine getirdiği yorum... Düşünür, Yeni-Platoncu geleneği sürdürerek Afrodit’in öyküsünü alegorik -simgesel- olarak yorumlamış ve tanrıçaya kendi tanrıbilim anlayışında bir yer vermiş...
