Kktc karpaz bölgesi çevre sorunlari ve bilinci üzerine bir çalisma

Bu çalısmada, çevre ve doğal özellikleri nedeniyle mukayeseli stünlüğe sahip Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti (KKTC) Karpaz bölgesi sakinlerine yönelik arastırma gerçeklestirilmistir. Bu arastırmada Karpaz bölgesinin temel çevre sorunları ve bölge halkının çevre bilinci sorgulanmıstır. Karpaz bölgesinin en önemli çevre sorunları sırasıyla “yangınlar”, “görüntü kirliliği”, “atıklardan doğan kirlilik”, “doğal kaynakların azalması”, “petrol dolum tesisleri”, “çarpık yapılasma”, “su kirliliği” ve “cep telefonu baz istasyonları” seklinde ifade edilmistir. Çevre bilinci açısından bölge halkı oldukça tatminkar tavır sergilemistir. Bölge halkının çevre bilincini gösteren baslıca ifadeler sırasıyla “Restaurantlarda ve tatil yerlerinde çöpler ayrı ayrı toplanmalı”, “Çevre sorunları ilköğretimden itibaren müfredata dahil edilmeli”, “Ekolojik denge giderek bozulmaktadır”, “Çevreyi kirletenlere ağır cezalar uygulanmalı”, “Çevre sorunları hakkında gazetelerde ve TV’de çıkan haberleri takip ederim?” ve “Çevre kirliliğim en önemli sebebi kisilerdir.” Bölge halkının “Hükümetlerin çevre politikasını beğeniyorum” ve “30 yıl sonra çevre bugünkünden iyi olacaktır” ifadelerine kararsız yorum yapması ise karar vericiler tarafından üzerinde durulacak hususlardır.

This research was conducted and compiled for the residents of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Karpas region which has a comparative advantage for environment and inherent characteristics. The main aim of this study is to question the environmental problems and the environmental awareness as raised by the residents of Karpas. According to the Karpas residents, the most important environmental problems of the Region are "fires", "the visual pollution", "pollution caused by wastes"; "the alarming rate of reduction of natural resources"; "oil filling plant", "unplanned constructions", "mobile phone base stations and masts". The residents have expressed a favorable attitude towards environmental awareness with their principal concerns being "Restaurants and hotels should have their wastes collected separately " and "Environmental awareness should be included in the curriculums of the primary schools" "The deterioration of ecological balance ", "heavy penalties should be applied to those persons carelessly polluting"." I follow environmental reports in newspapers and TV", "Humans have been the cause of mass pollution”. When posed with the following question of, "Do you agree with the government's environmental policies?" and "do you think that in 30 years time, the environment will be better than today?" the majority of residents have simply not been able to give a definite answer and mostly saying undecided ". This issue needs a depth and more advance investigation.
