Türkiye’nin ihracat, ithalat ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki nedensellik analizi

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin 1996-2006 dönemindeki verilerle ihracat, ithalat ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi araştırıldı. Birim kök testi sonuçlarına göre tüm serilerin birinci farklarında durağan oldukları görüldü. Johansen’nın Eşbütünleşme testi sonuçları ihracat, ithalat ve ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönem denge ilişkisinin olduğunu ve üç eşbütünleşim vektörü olduğunu gösterdi. Seriler eşbütünleşik olduklarından, nedensellik testinin yapılması için vektör hata düzeltme modeli kullanıldı. Ampirik sonuçlar kısa dönemde ithalat, ihracat ve ekonomik büyüme arasında iki yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi olduğunu gösterdi. Hata Düzeltme Modeline göre uzun dönemde, ihracattan ithalata, ithalattan ihracata, büyümeden ihracata ve büyümeden ithalata doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu sonucuna varıldı.

In this paper, the Granger-causality between exports, imports, and economic growth is examined for Turkey using data covering the period 1996-2006. According to unit root test results were shown that each of series is stationary when the variables are defined in first differences. The results of the Johansen’s cointegration analysis test show that there is causality relationship between exports, imports and economic growth. It is concluded that there are three cointegration vectors in the data. Since the series are found to be cointegrated, we use vector error correction model to test the existence of causality. The empirical results show that there is two-way causality relationship among exports, imports and economic growth in the short-run. According to Error Correction Model that there is unidirectional causality from exports to imports, from imports to exports, from growth to exports and from growth to imports in the long-run.
