Dünyada ve türkiye de küresel çevre felaketleri, çevre bilinci ve kentlerin geleceği

Dünya, 1970'lı yıllarda çok uluslu şirketlerin çoğalması, 1980'li yılarda uzayda iletişim devriminin gerçekleşmesi ve 1990'lı yıllarda SSCB'nin dağılması ile küreselleşmenin egemenliğine girdi. Bu süreçle birlikte birçok kavram, kurum, olay ve olgu da küreselleşti. Örneğin demokrasi, insan hakları, serbest piyasa ekonomisi, çevre kavramları ve bunlara ilişkin kural, kurum ve işleyişlerle birlikte felaketler de küreselleşti. Üstelik bu çevresel sorunlar ve yaşanan afetler yerel olmaktan çıkıp etkileri maddi veya zihinsel olarak bütün dünyayı etkilemeye başladı. Böylece, son yıllarda görülmemiş derecede doğal afetlere sahne olan dünyamız, sadece ekonomik olarak zengin, siyasal olarak barışçıl olmanın yetmediğini göstermiş, aynı zamanda güvenli sürdürülebilir ve yaşanabilir bir çevre gerekliliği her gün biraz daha bilince çıkmıştır. İşte bu çalışma dünyanın ve Türkiye'nin karşı karşıya bulunduğu küresel ısınma, süper-volkan, yanardağların patlaması, tsunami, büyük depremler, gökcisminin dünyaya çarpması, küresel salgın hastalıklar gibi insanoğlunun her geçen gün biraz daha kaygılandıran küresel felaketlere dikkat çekerek irdelemekte, çözüm önerileri sunmakta ve bu konuda bir çevre bilincinin oluşmasına katkıda bulunmayı amaçlamaktadır.

The world has fallen under the sovereignty of globalization with the rapid increase in the number of multinational companies in 1970s, realization of space communication reform in 1980s and collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990s. Throughout this process; many concepts, organizations, events and phenomena have been globalized as well. For example, the concepts of democracy, human rights, free market economy and environment as well as the rules, institutions and functions related to these concepts have undergone globalization. However, one more thing has been globalized together with the above-listed ones: disasters. Besides, environmental problems and disasters have lost their locality characteristic and, their impacts have started to influence whole world in material and intellectual terms. Thus, the world (which has witnessed the most serious ever natural disasters in recent years) has proved that it is not enough to be rich in economic and be peaceful in political terms. The need for a reliable, sustainable end habitable environment has started to be felt more and more. Present study discusses the global disasters which Turkey and the world is exposed to and which raise serious concerns among people -such as global warming, super-volcano, eruption of a volcano, tsunami, large-scale earthquakes, celestial objects hitting the earth and global epidemics- to offers solutions for such problems and to contribute in raising of environmental awareness on this issue.
