Platon’un demokrasi paradoksu, popper’ın yorumları ve türkiye’de demokrasi tartışmaları

Demokrasi konusunda Platon ve Popper genel olarak farklı düşünür. Örneğin Platon, egemenliğin, bilgisi yetersiz kitlelerin elinde olduğu yerlerde Demokrasiyi kötü bir yönetim biçimi olarak düşünür. Tam aksine, Popper ise Demokrasiyi yönetim biçimlerinin en iyi türü olarak tanır ve demokratik yönetimin toplumun en iyi yaşam biçimine ulaşması yolunu açar. Bu makaledeki amacım, Platon’un Demokrasi paradoksları ve Popper’ın yorumlarının çözümlenmesine ek olarak, siyasal katılım, egemenlik ve özgürlük vb. bağlamında, Türk demokrasisinin benzer yönlerini tartışmaktır.

In terms of Democracy, Plato and Popper differ extensively. For instance, Plato considers Democracy as a fundamentally corrupted form of government, where the possession of power rests upon the will of the masses, which for Plato are incapable of achieving true knowledge. Conversely, Popper recognizes Democracy among the best forms of governance. And he argues that democratic rule will eventually lead society to pursue the best life. the purpose of this essay I will concentrate in analyzing the paradoxes of Plato’ and Popper's interpretations with related to democracy in terms of: political participation, authority and freedom etc. In the same time I will argue Turkish Democracy out similar aspects.
