In a rapidly changing world “health” and “illness” are terms which become increasingly difficult to define and which consist of a lot of factors. The meanings, which are attributed to these terms, are also changing in the world of globalization. In this article the nature of the causal relations between the behaviour of women -concerning health, illness, education, income and residential area- are being questioned. After a discussion of the terms “health” and “illness”, the relation between these terms and education, economic conditions, as well as the living context are investigated. The aim of the research was to collect qualitative as well as quantitative data through interviews and questionnaires which contained standardized and open-ended questions. In order to be able to collect data, representative samples for Antalya region was collected from urban and rural parts, which had different socio-cultural background. In the study, the information gained from the interviews with hundred and sixty respondents ranging 15-49 ages in their fertile period and married at leas was evaluated.
