Globalization is a process, which is still going on and keeps changing for four hundred years and affects the whole World in various ways. Although this period hasn’t called “globalization” in recent times, after 1980s the developments in the World are generally called “globalization” and became a topic of academic researches. The development and the innovation in information technologies have a great affect on globalization, which has developed faster and started to affect the whole world after 1980s. As a result of these changes, economic markets have become united, national governments’ borders have disappeared; from business life to culture in many different fields, rules of the hegemonic powers USA and the West are generally accepted. Globalization process also has affected whole media industry from media ownership to working conditions and increased the global efficiency of mass media. This article interests in how media changed in globalization process also how this process affected Turkish media sector. In this research, first globalization process then the effects of this process on media sector are analysed, within the context of global developments what kind of changes occurred in the Turkish media sector and it’s working conditions are tried to explained.
