Yetişkin ders kitaplarında toplum ve bilimsel düşünce (1930´lu ve 2000´li yıllar)

Bu çalısmada, Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarındaki yetiskinler için hazırlanan ders kitaplarıyla günümüzdekiler, toplumsal konulara yaklasım ve bilimsel düsünceye verdigi yer açısından karsılastırılacaktır. İncelemeye konu edilen ders kitapları “Alfabeler, Okuma Yazma Kitapları, Köy Kıraati, Yeni Millet Kıraati, Halk Okuma Kitabı” vb yetiskinlerin egitimi için hazırlanan kitaplardan olusmaktadır. Söz konusu ders kitaplarının içerikleri, anlatıcı öznenin kimligi, çalısma hayatı, aile kurumu, egitim, bilimsel düsünce, yurttaslık ve yurt bilgisi ile mekânını kurgulanısı açısından incelendi. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında ders kitaplarının, sonraki yılların tersine; bireyi toplumsal yasam içinde güçlendirici iletilerle yükledigi, akılcı düsünceye yönelttigi ve yasadıgı ülkenin, dünyanın farkında vatandaslar olma araçlarıyla donattıgı belirlendi. Buna karsın, 1950’lerde baslayan, dahası 1980’lerden sonra ise hızlanan bir süreçte yetiskinler için hazırlanan ders kitaplarında söz konusu söylemin tersi bir yönelim oldugu görüldü. Buna göre ders kitaplarında islenen konuların geleneksel degerlere vurgu yaptıgı, akılcı düsünmekten soyutlanmıs bireylerin özne olarak yer aldıgı saptandı. Bu durum, Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarından bugüne, degisen egitim politikalarının yetiskin egitimine ve yurttasın toplumsal yerine iliskin yaklasımını ortaya koymaktadır.

In this study, the text-books which were published for adults during the early years of Turkish Republic will be compared with those of today in terms of sociological and scientific ideas’ point of view within the context. The text-books which are the main sources of this research, such as ‘Alphabets, Reading and Writing Books, Village Reading, New Nation’s Reading, Public Reading Book’ are formed by books designed for adult education. The contents of the above-mentioned text-books were analyzed in terms of narrator identity, work life, Family Corporation, education, scientific idea, citizenship and homeland knowledge as well as location design. It was clarified that, in contrary to the latter years, the former text-books of the Republic loaded individuals with strengthening messages within the sociological life, directed them to rationalism and equipped them by means of being conscious citizens who are aware of their home country and the world they live in. On the contrary, it was seen that an opposite trend to the so-called legend of the former years took place in adult text-books during the period starting from the early 1950s and speeding up after 1980s. It was pointed that the topics in the text-books that were published after 1950s involved mainly traditional values and individuals who were abstracted from rational idea, participated as subjects in the contents. This situation specifies the perspective of changing educational policies related with adult education and sociological position of the citizen starting from the first years of the Republic till today.
