Toplumsal değişme ve din

Tarihte olduğu gibi günümüzde de din, toplumları etkilemekte, yönlendirmekte, toplumların değişim süreçlerinde görece olumlu veya olumsuz roller oynamaktadır. Öyle ki gerek toplumsal değişimi, gerekse dini tam olarak anlayabilmenin yolu, din ile toplumsal değişim arasındaki karşılıklı ilişkileri anlamaktan geçmektedir. Din-toplumsal değişim ilişkilerini anlamak, genel olarak toplumların dinî ve dinlerin sosyal boyutlarını anlamak için elzem olduğu gibi, özelde Müslüman toplumların İslamî ve İslam’ın Müslüman toplumlara ilişkin boyutlarını anlamak için de elzem görünmektedir. Bu çalışmanın asıl konusu, din ile toplumsal değişim arasındaki ilişkilerdir. Çalışmada, din ve sosyal değişim ilişkilerinin karşılıklılığı esasından hareket edilmektedir. Din sosyolojisinin asıl konusu, din ile toplum arasındaki karşılıklı ilişki ve etkileşimler olduğuna göre, din ve sosyal değişimi ele alan bir çalışmanın, sadece dinin sosyal değişim üzerindeki etkilerini değil, sosyal değişimin din üzerindeki etkilerini de incelemesi gerekir. Makalede din-toplumsal değişim ilişkileri, din sosyolojisi merkezinde, tarihsel, tipolojik ve işlevselci yaklaşımlardan yararlanılarak dökümantasyon tekniği ile ele alınıp anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır.

Today, as in history, religion can affect and orient societies, and play relatively positive or negative roles in the processes of change of societies such that the way of fully understanding both social change and religion is connected to understanding mutual relationships between religion and social changes. To understand the relationships between religion and social changes is indispensable to comprehend generally the religious dimensions of societies and the social dimensions of religions in general as the Islamic dimensions of Muslim societies and the dimensions of Islam pertaining to Muslim societies in particular. The main matter of this study lies in the mutual relations of social change and religion. In the study, it is departed on the basis of mutualness of relations between religion and social changes. As the main topic of sociology of religion is the mutual relationships and interactions between religion and society, an article considering religion and social change must investigate not only the influences of religion on social change, but also the influences of social change on religion. This study aims to understand the mutual relationships between social changes and religion. In this research, the aforementioned issue is considered in the basis of sociology of religion by benefiting from the historical, typological and functionalist approaches with the documentation technique and the understanding approach.
