Georg simmel´in düşüncesinde modern topum ve tüketim kültürü

Georg Simmel klasik dönem sosyologları içerisinde yer alır. Buna ragmen onun teorisi büyük oranda çagdas sosyolojik kuramla örtüsmektedir. Simmel, toplumu, kendi üyelerine hâkim olan dıssal bir sistem oldugu yönündeki pozitivist yaklasımı reddeder. Bunun yerine o, toplumu, kendisine ait unsurların karsılıklı etkilesim sistemi olarak görmektedir. Bu yaklasımıyla Simmel, “toplum” yerine “toplumlasma” kavramını benimsemis oluyordu. Toplumlasma kavramı, topluma etki eden süreçlerin daha canlı bir biçimde ortaya konulmasına imkân saglıyordu. Böylece Simmel, felsefenin egemen oldugu bir toplumsal çözümleme biçiminin yerine sosyolojik perspektifi yerlestirmistir. Bu nedenle o, daha açık bir biçimde modern toplumu, kültürel olusum dinamikleriyle analiz etme basarısı göstermistir.

Georg Simmer is a sociologist of classical period. However, his theory has many commonalities with modern sociological theory. Simmel rejects the positivist view that individuals are controlled by external social structures. Instead, he views society as a system in which its different components interact. Therefore, Simmel appropriates the concept of sociation instead of society. Sociation allows a better conceptualization of social processes that affect society. In this way, Simmens introduces sociological analysis as alternative to social analysis which is greatly influenced by philosophy. Therefore, he is able to analyze modern society with its cultural dynamics.
