Makale özeti ve diğer detaylar.
Bu makale, İslam tarih yazıcılığında kendine özgü bir yeri bulunan ed-Deyârât geleneğini ve gelenekten günümüze gelmiş tek örnek olan eş-Şabûştî’nin Kitabu’d-Deyârât adlı eserini konu edinmektedir.
Mesopotamia, Al-Cazira, Syria and Egypt where Christians have been living relatively in big density became a part of Muslim world by the Islamic fath (conquest) serials. On the other hand, Muslims accepted everyone who is non-muslim residing in these territory as an individual of their society and showed a great interest to their religions, customs, and traditional values. Futhermore, they did some important studies on them to understand their real case. Al-Deyârât books’ collections constitute the most important place in them as an example. These books basically examine the history of churches and monasteries. Moreover, mostly writen by the Muslim authors, these books are so useful in reading history of Muslim world in general as well as in reading the history of Arab literature in particular. Since Muslim’s authors focussed on completely different religions which they did not belong to, it can be argued that Muslims have shown how non-muslims or other cultural components of society should be tolerated in this respect. Also, these studies display the relationship between Muslim and Christians in great sense.
