Ilköğretim okul yöneticilerinin hizmet liderliği rollerinin öğrencilerin okul tutumuna etkisi

Bu araştırmanın amacı ilköğretim okul yöneticilerinin hizmet liderliği rollerinin, öğrencilerin okula karşı tutumuna etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma deneysel yöntemle yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın deseni denk kontrol gruplu öntest-sontestdir. Araştırmanın çalışma evrenini Elazığ İli merkez ilköğretim okulu 7. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem olarak, Elazığ Merkez Nahit Ergene İlköğretim okulundan deney ve kontrol olmak üzere iki ayrı 7. sınıf belirlenmiştir. Deney ve kontrol grubu 13 erkek ve 12 kız öğrenci olmak üzere 25 er kişilik iki gruptan oluşmaktadır. Okul yöneticisinin hizmet liderliği etkinlikleri sonucunda deney grubu öğrencilerinin ön test okul tutumu aritmetik ortalaması X=1.39 (katılmıyorum) düzeyindeyken, son test aritmetik ortalaması X= 2.65 (katılıyorum) düzeyine yükselmiştir. Kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin ön test okul tutumu aritmetik ortalaması X= 1.41 iken, son test ortalamasının X= 1.35 seviyesine düştüğü tespit edilmiştir. Deney grubu içerisindeki farklılığın p<.001 düzeyinde anlamlı olduğu saptanmıştır. Okul yöneticisinin hizmet liderliği uygulamasına yönelik rolleri, öğrencilerin okula karşı tutumunu pozitif olarak etkilemektedir

This study aimed to examine the effects of servant leadership roles assumed by primary school managers on students’ school attitude. Having an experimental nature, the study used the pretest-posttest design with equivalent control group. The population of the study comprised 7th graders who were attending primary schools in the city center of Elazığ. To form the control and experimental groups in the study sample, two different 7th grade classes were selected from Nahit Ergene Primary School in the center of Elazığ. Both groups included 25 students (12 girls; 13 boys). As a result of the principal’s servant leadership practices, the arithmetic mean of experimental students’ school attitude pretest scores X =1.39 (agree) was elevated to X = 2.65 (disagree) in the posttest. In the control group, the arithmetic mean of school attitude pretest scores X= 1.41 fell to X = 1.35 in the posttest. The difference in the experimental group was meaningful at the level P<.001. School managers’ servant leadership roles played by primary school principals seemed to positively affect student attitudes toward school.
