Dil-toplum ilişkisi ve ari-sami polemiğinde dil ve sami dilleri

İlkçağlardan beri dilin kaynağı ve dillerle ilgili pekçok görüş ileri sürülmüştür. Bu tartışmaların yoğunlaştığı tarihsel süreç içerisindeki en önemli dönemlerden birisi 16. yy’dan itibaren başlayan ve Avrupa’ya rengini ve kimliğini kazandırmada altyapı oluşturan Âri-Sâmi polemiği çerçevesindeki dil tartışmaları olmuştur. Michel Foucault’nun da dediği gibi; “Batı aklında filolojinin doğumu biyolojinin ya da politik ekonominin doğumundan daha az dikkat çekmiştir.” Bu tartışmalar ve düşünceler dilsel özelliklerden daha ziyade Ârî-Sami halklarının karakterlerini yansıtır mahiyettedir. Dil-toplum ilişkisi açısından, Sami dillerinin içinde doğdukları toplumların özelliklerini taşımaları kaçınılmazdır. Ancak sami dillerinin, “din dilleri veya cennet dilleri” olarak şöhret bulmuş olmaları pekçok tartışmayı da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu çalışmada, dil-toplum ilişkisi ve Ari-Sami ayrımı polemiğinde ortaya çıkan Sami dillerinin bazı özelliklerini ortaya koyduk ve yine aynı bağlamda modern Avrupa’nın oluşumu sürecindeki dilsel tartışmaları Sami dilleri açısından inceledik.

Since the antic times, many ideas concerning the language and its origin have been asserted. One of the most important periods in the historical process in which these discussions have condensed was the linguistic discussion at the framework of the Aryan-Semitic polemics which began in the 16th century and formed the infrastructure /substructure of Europe’s colour and identification. As Michael Foucault said, “The birth of philology attracted far less notice in the Western mind than did the birth of biology or political economy. These discussions and thoughts reflect the characteristics of the Aryan-Semitic peoples more than their linguistic features. From the view-point of language-society relationship, it is unavoidable for the Semitic languages to carry the characteristics of the society in which they were born. But because of the fact that the Semitic languages were held in high regutation as “languages of religion or languages of paradise”, with this so many disputes arose. In this study, we exposed some characteristics of the Semitic languages observed during the Aryan-Semitic polemics and language-society relationship and again in the same context we studied the linguistic discussions in the process of the genesis of modern Europe from the stand-point of the Semitic languages.
