Bugün büyük insan kitlelerinin yaşamını temelden etkileyen çevre sorunları, yakın gelecekte en muhtemel çatışma nedenleri olacaktır. Çevre sorunları, nüfus artışı, göçler, yoksulluk ve kaynakların tüketilmesi ile birleşince, bir güvenlik tehdidi oluşturacaktır. Özellikle petrol, su ve toprak gibi en önemli kaynakların kıtlaşması, ülkelerin yaşamsal güvenlik sorunları haline gelecektir. Tarihte de, su ve toprak gereksinimleri savaşlara neden olmuştur; fakat bugün kaynak kıtlıkları daha ciddi, çatışacak taraf sayısı daha çok ve nüfusları daha kalabalık ve silahlanma düzeyi daha yüksektir. Bu demektir ki, olası çatışmaların olumsuz etkileri daha fazla olacaktır. Bu çalışmada, doğal kaynakların kıtlaşmasının, insanların ve diğer canlı varlıkların üzerinde yaratabileceği olası etkiler ortaya konacak ve gelecek yüzyılda, bu nedenlerden dolayı, şiddetli dünya savaşlarının yaşanabileceği ifade edilecektir.

The environmental problems affecting the lives of big human masses today will be the most possible causes of conflicts in the future. When the environmental problems will unite with the problem of increasing population, migrations, poverty and the consumption of the sources, a serious threat against the security will arise. Especially the decreasing of the oil, water and soil sources will become vital security problems of the nations. In the history, the need for water and soil were serious causes of many wars. Today, the lack of sources is more significant, the number of the parties to fight is more, the population of these parties is higher ad the level of armament is higher than ever. This means that, the negative effects of possible conflicts will be more serious. In that study we will put forward the possible effects that the decreasing of the sources may cause on the human beings and the other living creatures, and will assert that in the next century big world wars bay break out as a result of these causes.
