Bu makalede, 3 Ağustos 1950 tarihinde Balıkesir Çarşısı'nda meydana gelen yangın ele alınıp incelenmiştir. Ulusal ve yerel basın kaynaklarına göre, bir taraftan yangının çıkış sebebi, yangında devletin felaketzedelere yaptığı yardımlar incelenirken, diğer taraftan devlet adamlarının yangın hadisesine karşı olan tutumları ve çarşının yeniden inşası değerlendirilmiştir.

In this article, the fire occurring in the Balıkesir Bazaar has been reviewed and studied. On the one hand; the reasons of fire and the helps done by the State for the victims both during and after the fire, have been studied. On the other hand; the attitudes of the State administrators againstthe fire and the reconstruction of the bazaar have been evaluated.
