The purpose of this research is to determine the language learning strategies of the students who study at Düzce University Department of Foreign Languages. The population of this research consists of 60 randomly selected students from three different prepatory classes whose levels were A1. To collect data in this research, Language Learning Strategies Inventory, which was developed by Oxford (1990) and translated and tested for validity and reliability by Cesur and Fer (2007) was used. At the end of the research, the data to identify language learning strategies were determined by frequency, percentage and average SPSS 16 packet program was used to analyze the data. According to the results obtained from this research, the students use high level language learning strategies according to the result of the inventory.
