Contemporary science education is shaped over learning cycle models configuring concepts, solving problems at interaction and shared learning environments by students. The purpose of this research evaluates the effectiveness of 5E and 7E models and compares the models with each other in terms of some aspects of science literacy. In this regard the researchers applied the views of pre-service science teachers. The research had been done with 50 pre-service teachers for eight weeks in 2011-2012 academic years, at Kirikkale University Faculty of Education, in Science Teaching Laboratory Practice I Course. 11 open-ended questions, Scale for Assessment of Effectiveness of5Eand7E Instructional Models, were prepared for this purpose. Three expert opinions were taken for this scale. Obtained data analyzed with content analysis of qualitative research methods. Thanks to this, the researchers determined pre-service teacher’s views about the subject.
