Arap edebiyatinda gölge oyunu

The shadow play is a genre of theatre which is created by means of reflecting the shadows of imageson a curtain located in front of the audiences. The shadow play pertains to the art of folk literature, and its origins are based on the folk culture. While this genre has an important place in the entertaninment of the lower class Arab society, the upperclass people of the Arab society show less interest in this type of entertainment. In this study, not only the importance of the shadow play in the Arab literature but also its chronology will be analysed.
