Fizik öğretmen adaylarının geliştirdikleri örnek rehber materyallerin uygulanmasının değerlendirilmesi

Doküman geliştirip uygulamaya yönelik bilgi ve beceriler öğretmenlikte ihtiyaç duyulan temel davranışlardan biridir. Bu çalışmada, fizik öğretmen adaylarına Özel Öğretim Yöntemleri-II Uygulama Dersinde (ÖÖY-II UD) Öğretmen Rehber Materyalleri (ÖRM) hazırlayıp sunma bilgi ve becerilerinin kazandırılmasına yönelik uygulanan yaklaşımın etkililiği değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma, 2002-2003 eğitim-öğretim güz yarıyılında, KTÜ Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsüne bağlı Tezsiz Yüksek Lisans Fizik Öğretmenliği Programına devam eden 10 öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Adaylardan, Lise-2 fizik konularında farklı öğrenme kuramlarıyla öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerine dayalı ÖRM geliştirmeleri ve sunmaları istenmiştir. Bu süreçte adaylara, önceki öğretmenlik meslek derslerinde kazanmış olmaları beklenen öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerine yönelik davranışları konu alan bilgisine uygulama ve çalıştıkları konudaki kavram yanılgılarını belirleme, etkili öğretim durumlarını planlama becerilerinin gelişiminin önemi vurgulanmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri, ÖRM'nin geliştirilmesi ve uygulanmasında izlenen yaklaşımın etkililiği ve bu süreçte adayların karşılaştıkları problemleri belirlemeye yönelik olarak öğretmen adaylarının hazırlamış oldukları Öğretim Paketleri'nin doküman analizlerinden ve mülakatlardan elde edilmiştir. Veriler, öğretmen adaylarının süreç sonunda amaçlanan düzeyde ÖRM geliştirip sunma becerilerini kazandıklarını göstermektedir. Araştırma bulgularından, uygulanan yaklaşımın ÖÖY-II UD'nin hedeflerinin gerçekleştirilmesinde kullanılabilecek ideal bir yöntem olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Benzer yaklaşımın, farklı uygulamalarla ülkemizdeki diğer eğitim fakültelerinde de kullanılmasına yönelik önerilerle çalışma tamamlanmıştır.

One of the most essential qualifications for teachers is to develop and implement effective teaching materials. The study was aimed to gain the skills to develop and use teacher guided materials (TGMs) in Special Teaching Methods Course-II (STMC-II)for Physics student teachers. In this paper, the effectiveness of the approach was evaluated. This study was conducted with 10 student teachers attending to the Master Degree Program without thesis at the Graduated School of Natural and Applied Sciences in KTU in terms of 2002-2003. The students were asked to develop and present effective TGMs planned according to principles of special teaching approaches. In this process they were stressed the importance of using the knowledge of pedagogical courses they obtained before this course. Moreover, student teachers were directed to find any misconceptions in their subjects and plan effective teaching situations for plausible physics learning. The study was also aimed to determine problems of the student teachers encountered during preparation of the materials. The data of the study were collected by document analysis of the students' materials and semi-structured intennews with student teachers participated in this study. At the end of the process it is concluded that all of the student teachers gained nearly whole defined aims -skills and knowledge- of the STC-II. This has an implication on the notion that the approach used in this study could be one of the appropriate ways to reach the targets of the courses such as STMC-II. The study was completed with recommendations to use of the similar approach at different faculty of educations in our country.
