Xv-xvii. yüzyıllar arasında osmanlı hâkimiyetinde limni adası manastırlarının durumu

Osmanlılar Ege Denizi'nde Boğazlara hâkim bir pozisyona sahip olan Limni'nin fethinin akabinde, imparatorluğun pek çok yerinde görüldüğü gibi, adadaki sosyal yaşamda önemli rolü bulunan unsurların varlığını muhafaza etme maksadıyla hareket etmişlerdi. Böylece, adadaki dinsel yaşamda olduğu gibi tarımsal üretimde de önemli katkıları bulunan manastırlar, tesis edilen Osmanlı idaresinde yerlerini almışlardı. Bu çalışmanın mehazını oluşturan tahrir defterlerindeki kayıtlar, Limni ahalisinin dini gereksinimlerinin bir parçası olarak inkişaf eden manastırların tahrir dönemleri arasındaki gelişimleri, adada bulundukları yerleri ve statüleri gibi Osmanlı idaresindeki durumları hakkında önemli ölçüde açıklayıcı bilgiler sunmaktadır. Bu cümleden olarak çalışmada tahrir verilerinin çizdiği çerçevede Limni manastırlarının yaklaşık 100 yıllık bir dönemde Osmanlı idaresi altındaki vaziyetleri tetkik edilmektedir.

After the Ottomans conquered Lemnos, which is dominating the Straits in the Aegean Sea, as in many other parts of the empire, they acted with an endeavor to preserve the components that constituted an important role within the social life on the island. Thus, the monasteries, which occupied an important function within the religious life as well as within the agricultural production, maintained a place within the newly established Ottoman administration. The registrations in the Tahrir Defters, which constitute the source of this study, give important explanatory information on the state of the monasteries, under Ottoman rule, which had been established as a part of the religious needs of the people on Lemnos. This information covers data on the development of monasteries under Ottoman rule between the periods of the Tahrir registrations, their positions and status on the Island and their state within the Ottoman administration. Within the framework marked up by the data contained in the Tahrir, the position of the monasteries on Lemnos for a period of approximately 100 years under Ottoman rule is being investigated.
