Ahmet midhat efendi’nin eserlerinde düşmüş kadına uzanan el: mihnetkesan ve henüz on yedi yasında

Arastırmanın Temelleri: Büyük bir bölümü Balıkesir sınırları içinde kalan Kaz Dagları, Problem Durumu: Ahmet Midhat Efendi, Tanzimat’tan itibaren batı etkisinde degismeye baslayan edebiyatımızın en önde gelen sahsiyetlerinden biridir. Roman, tiyatro, hikâye, anı, seyahat yazısı, tenkit, deneme, gazete makalesi gibi çogu o dönemde Türk edebiyatı için yeni olan edebî türlerde eserler vermistir. Tanzimat’la birlikte batılılasma kavramı ile tanısan Türk toplumunu, eserleri aracılıgıyla, egitmeyi en önemli görevi kabul etmistir. Ahmet Midhat Efendi’nin eserlerinde ele aldıgı konuların basında yeni bir kimlik kazanmaya çabalayan Türk toplumunda kadının konumu ve yasantısı ile ilgili hususlar gelir. O dönemde hem Türk toplumu hem de Türk edebiyatı için çok yeni olan düsmüs kadına acıma ve onu topluma kazandırma temasını isledigi Mihnetkesan ve Henüz On Yedi Yasında adlı eserleri bu konudaki çarpıcı örneklerdir. Ahmet Midhat Efendi, bu eserleri aracılıgıyla, fuhus âlemine düsen genç kız ve kadınların büyük bir kısmının çaresiz, kurtulusundan ümidini kesmis, acınası insanlar olduguna dikkati çeker. Düsmüs kadına katı kaideci ahlâk anlayısı ile degil, insanî ahlâk anlayısı ile yaklasılması, onu kurtarmak için çaba harcanması gerektigine isaret eder. Genç kız ve kadınların egitilmelerinin önemi ve fuhsun ortadan kalkması için basta erkeklerin olmak üzere toplumun görevleri üzerinde durur. Problem Statement: Ahmet Midhat Efendi is one of the leading personalities of our literature that began to change under the influence of the West starting from the Tanzimat. He published various kinds of works such as novels, plays, short stories, memories, travel notes, critiques, essays and articles. Many of these genres were quite new concerning the Turkish literature of that time. Moreover, by means of his works, he regarded it as his most significant task to train Turkish society which got introduced to the concept of Westernization starting from the Tanzimat. One of the main subjects of his works is the issues concerning the position and life of women in Turkish society that were trying to obtain a new identity. Some of the striking examples in this aspect are his books titled Mihnetkesan and Henüz On Yedi Yasında that deal with the pity shown towards the fallen women and the efforts to regain them to the society. These were in fact very new themes during that period. In these works Ahmet Midhat Efendi calls to the attention that the majority of the young girls and women forced to prostitution are in fact hopeless people who do not have any hope of rescue and are in a miserable condition. He stresses that fallen women should not be approached in a strict normative moral understanding, but rather they should be approached in a humane moral understanding and that effort should be revealed to rescue her. He also underlines the importance of the education of young girls and women and the responsibility of the society and the responsibility of men in particular in order to prevent prostitution. In this paper it is aimed to study Mihnetkesan and Henüz On Yedi Yasında of Ahmet Midhat Efendi from the perspective of the pity shown towards the fallen women and the effort to rescue them. Resources of Data: Ahmet Midhat’s works: Mihnetkesan and Henüz On Yedi Yasında Conclusions: As a conclusion, it can be argued that in both Mihnetkesan and Henüz On Yedi Yasında the writer deals with the issue of the fallen women from a very new, unusual perspective and in a unique style. Besides he also endeavores to solve this social problem with a humane approach.
