Araştırmanın Temelleri: 15. yüzyılda Memlûk Türk Devleti'nin Kıbrıs ve Rodos Adalarında yuvalanan Hospitalier Şövalyeleri ve deniz korsanları ile olan mücadelesi. Araştırmanın Amacı: Bu dönemde süre gelen Memlûk-Haçlı ilişkilerini incelemek ve değerlendirmek. Veri Kaynağı: Bu dönemi konu edinen ana kaynaklar, modern araştırma eserler ve makale çalışmaları. Ana Tartışma: Memlûkların Doğu Akdeniz siyaseti hangi temellere dayanıyordu? Kıbrıs ve Rodos Adalarına niçin seferler tertip edildi? Memlûklar bu siyasetinde ne kadar başarılıydı? Sonuç: 15. yüzyılda Doğu Akdeniz'de zararlı faaliyetlerde bulunan Hospitalier'ler ve Katalan korsanların önünü almak için etkin bir siyaset takip eden Memlûklar, özellikle Sultan Barsbay zamanında Kıbrıs'a ve Sultan Çakmak devrinde de Rodos'a tertip ettirilen seferlerle Doğu Akdeniz'deki Memlûk egemenliğini kabul ettirmişlerdir.

Base of Research: The Conflict of the Mamlūks against the Hospitalier Knights and the sea pirates in the fifteemth century, who were situated at Cyprus and Rhodoes. Purpose of Research: Examine and argue the relations between the Mamlūks and the Crusades at this term. Resources of Data: Some of the annals of the Mamlūk historians and the modern books and the article works that are concerning with this term. Main Discussion: Which bases did the East Mediterranean Policy of the Mamlūks depend on? Why were the campaigns organized against Cyprus and Rhodes? How successful was the Mamlūks at this policy? Conclusion: The Mamlūks, followed an effective policy against the Hospitaliers and the Catalan Pirates to prevent their harmful activities in the Eastern Mediternean especially by the campaigns against Cyprus at the term of Sultan Barsbay and to Rhodoes at the term of Sultan Jaqmaq, had established the Mamlūk Predominance at the Eastern Mediternean.
