Süreklilik ve kopuş teorileri bağlamında türkiye'de eski ve yeni toplumsal hareketler

Bu çalışma, TÜrkiye'deki yeni ve eski toplumsal hareketlere yönelik bir sosyolojik çözümleme girişimidir. Türkiye' de özellikle YTII' lerin toplumsal, siyasal ve ideolojik karakteristikleri, toplumsal sorunları algılayışlan, eski tip toplumsal hareketlerle aralanndaki temel ayrım noktaları ve demokratik yöntem ve usulleri deneyimlerne olanakları konusundaki bilgiler sınırlıdır. Çalışma, bu konulan Ankara'daki yeni ve eski toplumsal hareketlere yönelik bir alan araştırmasının bulgulanndan hareketle incelerneyi ve tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmanın temel amacı, Türkiye'deki yeni ve eski toplumsal hareketlerin genel bir sosyolojik-demografik portresini ortaya koymaktır. Bu nedenle, her iki toplumsal hareket katılımcılannın eğitim durumu, sınıfsal yapısı, hareketin örgütlenme yapısı, amaçlan ve değerleri açısından karşılaştırmalı olarak ele alınnuştır. Buradaki çözümlemeler, YTII'lere atfedilen sosyolojik karakteristiklerin ne ölçüde geçerli olduğu sorusunu aydınlatmaya yöneliktir. Çalışmanın bulguları, Türkiye'deki yeni ve eski toplumsal hareketler arasında bir 'kopuş'tan çok 'süreklilik' olduğunu, örgüt yapısı, amaçlar ve değerler konusunda önemli bir takım benzerlikler olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

This study is a sociological attempt to analyze the newand old social movements in Turkey. The knowledge about the new social movements' social, political and ideological characteristics, their perception of social problems, their differences from old social movements, and their possibilities of realization of democratic methods and procedures in Turkey have been very limited. This study aims to examine these issues through the case study of new' and old social movements in Ankara. The study first aims to provide a general sociological-demographical portrait of the newand old social movements in Turkey. Therefore, the organizational structure, goals and values of the movements and education levels, class structure of the participants of both newand old social movements have been examined comparatively. The analyses here are all about the clarification of the relevance of the sociological characteristics attributed to new social movements. This study challenges such taken for granted assumptions. The findings of this research show that there is a 'continuity' rather than a 'break' between the newand old social movements in Turkey, and there are some important similarities among them with respect to organizational structure, goals and values.
