Osmanlı ve cumhuriyet döneminde kahvehaneler: sosyal ve siyasal yaşamın incelenmesi

Kahvehaneler, kahve bitkisinin bulunmasıyla birlikte ortaya çıkmış ve yayılmıştır. Kahvenin Ortadoğu'da bulunması ve yayılmasıyla ortaya çıkan süreç heyecan vericidir. Kahvenin yayıldığı her alanda kurulan kahvehaneler, bulunduğu dönemin sosyal ve siyasal hayatına derinlemesine etki etmiştir. İnsanların bu mekânlara gidişlerinin başlıca sebebi kahve içme isteği gibi görünse de asıl sebep sosyal bir ortama girme, başka insanlar ile görüşme ve etkileşim içinde bulunabilmektir. Özellikle Osmanlı Devleti ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti tarihinin incelendiği bu makalede kahvehanelerin sosyal ve siyasal etkisi dönemsel olarak ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.

Coffee houses were founded and spreaded with the discovery of coffee seeds. The period, after the discovery and spreading of coffee seeds in Middle East, is fascinating. The coffee houses, which were founded all over the areas that the coffee seeds were spreaded, has deeply effected the social and political life in that period. Even it seems that the main reason of people's going to these places is the desire to drink coffee, the main reason is to be social, meet other people and interact. It is attempted to put forward the social and political affect of the coffee houses periodically in this article in which particularly the history of Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic was studied.
