Bu araştırma, Sosyal Bilgiler öğretiminde biyografi kullanımının öğrencilerin sosyal bilgiler dersine ilişkin tutumlarına etkisini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma 2009-2010 öğretim yılı güz döneminde 7. sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma belirlenen deney ve kontrol grubu üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Deney grubunda sosyal bilgiler dersi, biyografi kullanılarak, kontrol grubunda ise biyografi kullanılmayarak işlenmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak sosyal bilgiler dersine yönelik tutumu ölçmek için "Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Tutum Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan yöntemin sosyal bilgiler dersine ilişkin tutuma etkisini belirlemek için t - testinden faydalanılmıştır. Yapılan t - testi sonucuna göre sosyal bilgiler öğretiminde biyografiler kullanılarak ders işlenen deney grubunun sosyal bilgiler dersine ilişkin tutumları, ders işlenişinde biyografiye yer verilmeyen kontrol grubunun sosyal bilgiler dersine karşı tutumlarına göre anlamlı derecede farklılık göstermiştir.
This research aims to put forward the effect of the usage of biography on the attitudes of the students in relation with the social studies class in Social Studies teaching. The research realized on the seventh grade students in the second semester of the education term, 2009-2010. The research applied on the determined experimental and control groups. Social studies lesson was done by using biography in the experimental group and not using biography in the control group. 'Social Studies Lesson Attitude Scale' was used as a data collection device to evaluate the attitude towards social studies lesson. To identify the effect of the current method concerning the attitude towards social studies lesson, t-test was used to get benefit. According to the result of the t-test, the attitudes of the experimental group that had lessons with the usage of biography have indicated highly difference towards the control group that had the lessons without the usage of it.
