öğrenci seçme sınavına hazırlanan öğrencilerin matematik dersine yönelik tutumlarının belirlenmesi

Bu çalışma da, lise son sınıf veya lise mezunu dershane öğrencilerinin matematik dersine yönelik tutumları ve bu tutumu etkileyen faktörler araştırılmıştır. Öğrencilere öncelikle 14 maddelik kişisel bilgi anketi uygulanmıştır. Matematik dersine yönelik tutumu ölçmek için ise Aydınlı (1997) tarafından tutumların bilişsel, duyuşsal ve psikomotor boyutlarını ölçecek şekilde geliştirilmiş, Likert tipi 60 maddelik ve Cronbach alfa katsayısı 0,97 olan bir tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada, öğrencilerin matematik dersine yönelik tutumu, "nasıldır?", "cinsiyetler arasında farklılıklar gösterir mi?", "okul türü seçiminde etkili midir?", "meslek tercihleri seçimi üzerinde etkili midir?" gibi sorularının cevapları incelenmiştir. Ölçek, Ankara ilindeki özel dershanelere devam etmekte olan 1000 öğrenciye uygulanmış, bunlardan 700 tanesi değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde SPSS 11.5 programı kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre ise, öğrencilerin matematik dersine yönelik tutumları genel olarak olumlu bulunmuştur. Matematiğe yönelik olumlu tutuma sahip öğrencilerin matematik dersinde daha başarılı oldukları ve matematik ağırlıklı meslekler tercih ettikleri tespit edilmiştir.

In this study, high school senior or graduate students' attitudes towards mathematics and the factors affecting their attitudes have been investigated. First, a personal information questionnaire consisting of 14 items has been conducted. Second, in order to investigate the attitudes towards mathematics, a scale developed by Aydınlı (1997) is used. If is a Likert type scale consisting of 60 items with 0.97 Cronbach alfa coefficient. This scale was developed to assess the cognitive, affective and psychomotor factors. In this investigation, the following research questions were analyzed: What is their attitude level towards mathematics? Does attitude towards mathematics display difference according to gender? Does it have any affect in choosing the school type? Does it have any affect in choosing profession? The scale was applied to 1000 students studying at private schools in Ankara. Out of this sample, 700 student reponses were considered, and the data analysed using SPSS 11.5 program. According to the results, the students' general attitude is positive. It is found that students with positive attitude towards mathematics are fairly successful and tend to have professional preferences in the area of mathematics.
