Sultan abdülaziz’e sunulmuş bir siyâsetâme çevirisi: kavalali hüseyin kâzim’in “risâle-i seciyye”si

Persian Ahlâku’s-Saltana, believed to be written by the Persian historian Vassaf, presented to the Ilkhanid ruler Muhammad Hudâbende, was translated into Turkish in different periods. One of these translations belongs to Kavalalı Hüseyin Kâzım. Hüseyin Kâzım made an authentic translation of some parts of Ahlâku’s-saltana, adding a long introduction. It was presented to Sultan Abdülaziz (1861-1876) with the title Risâle-i Seciyye. The single copy of Risâle-i Seciyye, which we have discovered so far, is located in Turkish Manuscripts of Topkapi Palace Museum, Mehmed Reşad Library, no: 925. Consisting of 32 leaves, the work was written in talik script. In this study, Risâle-i Seciyye is transcribed; its language, stylistic features and content are discussed. The source text Ahlâku’s-saltana and Risâle-i Seciyye are compared in terms of content and style.
