Even though taboos on women in social life are known to have existed, an erotic depiction of women ghazels has received a social acceptance. A different type of woman, however, appears before us in romance epics (romance mesnevis). The hero of romance mesnevis is an entity other than the poet, the story of the mesnevi is the story separate from the life and ego of the poet. In romance mesnevis, it is clear that the object of love is a female beloved, a woman. Disguise is a significant motif in these romances, the heroine changes her appearance in order to evade social restrictions. In other words, the women of these romances may be so strong as to kill lions and fight the enemy but she has to change appearance and thus disguise herself in order to show her power in public.
